Comment rating logging system is the same as content rating logging system, but you can adjust different logging settings for content and comment ratings.

Rating mode

This plugin has two presets for comment ratings collection. Presets are based on two different types of rating. The first rating type has only one icon (thumb up) and when you use this type of rating there is impossible to rate the comment negatively (the same logic is being used in Facebook; there is no possibility to unlike something). The other type of rating includes two icons (thumb up and thumb down) and in this the oportunity for your visitors to rate the comments positively and negatively (rating system will show sum of all ratings and this sum can be positive or negative). You can switch between those two comment rating types at any time.

Icon Size

To minify the tune comment rating form you can change the size of rating icons. You can do this selecting the value in pixels from the dropdown menu. We recommend you to choose the size of rating images wisely. Keep in mind, that you define the fixed size of the image, but visitors of your website can access it by various devices like desktop computers, tablets and mobile phones with radically different resolutions and screen pixel densities (dpi/ppi).

Icon colors

If you’re running plugin with it’s default settings you should see two color pickers and two fields for direct HEX color code input. You can see two color pickers because default setting for comment rating mode is a “like/dislike” which requires icons for the positive comment rating and negative comment rating and you can change the colors of positive and negative rating icons separately with those independent color pickers. If you switch comment rating mode to only “like” there will be only the positive rating icon and there will be only one color picker available.

HTML template

Comment rating form uses it’s own HTML template and of course it has own HTML template text field for write source code writing. Also this field can’t be empty, if it’s empty there will be no comment rating forms rendered on your website. By default there is one small line of source code which describes how comment rating form will be rendered (order of form elements and more). You can customize this template to meet your needs fearlessly because you can always rollback all changes to default template by pressing button bellow the field “Default HTML template”. Even if you have fully deleted the template, just press this button and you’ll restore default template immediately.

Top comments

Plugin has ability to calculate which comment on each post has the biggest rating and if you need, this function can show the most rated comment on the top above all other comments. To highlight this comment, we have made some CSS tweaking options. First of all, you need to mark the checkbox “Show the most rated comment on top” to enable this function. Then, if you want, you can apply the custom style options to these top comments. You can edit font type, font size, font style and text color for these top comments. It’s not necessary to put top comments on top above all comments – it’s possible only for custom style for top comments usage without moving them up.
