This widget allows you to display posts, pages or media attachment posts sorted by rating value. You can place it on any widgetized area of your website, for example, on the sidebar or footer (depends on the theme and it’s capabilities). This widget doesn’t require any setup; it starts working instantly, as you put it into any widget area of your WordPress website by Widgets manager. This widget has default settings to show the most popular five posts in descending order. You can change the widget settings for the period (how long the post can stay on this list), for example, if you select the option “1 month”, the widget will show you post created only in one month from the current date. Also, you can title the widget, just enter the name you want to give to this widget, and it will instantly appear on the website, at the top of the widget. To control this widget more accurately, you can change the type of the post that used in the widget, the default setting is “Posts,” but you can modify this setting to show sorted list of pages or media attachment posts. Also, a very important option is sorting rule, in this case, you can choose between descending and ascending sorting by post or page popularity. And the final option is a limit of posts or pages included in sorted list of the widget. Default setting is 5, but you can change it whenever you want.

Rating

Rating widget is used very simply and easily. It has only one setting that you can change by Widget manager, and this setting is a widget title. This widget allows you to show the rating form for posts and pages in the sidebar or another widgetized area on your website. It shows active rating form; so, it is designed not just for rating information show, but also lets your site user make rating action with this plugin. Sometimes it can be handy and helpful to use this widget, in case, you don’t want the rating form to appear in post area, and you prefer to show it on the sidebar next to the post content.
