I have a suggestion regarding woocommerce color filter.
It works great however there are 2 things that need attention.
1. In the product page, when I assign a color – I am able to assign color by text. However we need to show the color also next to it so I know which color it is.
For eg. if it just says Pacific Blue, virtual assistants wont know what that is. Where as if a small box with actual color is shown next to the text, they can easily assign colors.
2. Instead of showing colors one below the other on the sidebar, can we show it next to each other, so it looks compact if there are around 15 or more colors?
Thank you for taking the time to bring this to our attention.
1. It’s a good idea and we’ll add this feature in the next version.
2. It’s possible, but needs some custom CSS work. Are you familiar with CSS? If not, then please open a new topic in our technical support forum and we’ll help you.
I need your solution too. I dont want open a taxonomy if i click on a color. Can you explain me how you do that in the widgets.php ?
Does this include a widget or shortcode to display a listing of all ratings with a link to the article it came from?
I hope you are well today and thanks for asking!
Yes. You can use Top Rated Posts widget or elm_top_rated shortcode to display the list of all rated pages. There are several great options to make the list better – Date (get rated posts by date range), Post type (post, page, product, etc), Sort (Ascending, Descending), Limit (e.g. 5 or 500). Did you take a look at our documentation? Widgets: https://www.elementous.com/documentation/wordpress-rating-manager/widgets/ and shortcodes: https://www.elementous.com/documentation/wordpress-rating-manager/plugin-shortcodes/ You can easily customize the list of rated pages by using a filter. We can also help with customizing in our technical support forum.
One more thing. Does it contain a shortcode so we may put it anywhere on the post or page?
Of course, it includes a shortcode and a widget to display the rating, so you can put it anywhere on the post or page. There’s a rating widget and a few shortcodes. Please take a look at Widgets and Shortcodes in our documentation here: https://www.elementous.com/documentation/wordpress-rating-manager/widgets/ and https://www.elementous.com/documentation/wordpress-rating-manager/plugin-shortcodes/
your plugin is great, but unfortunately is just for the color filtering. Do you plan any extra paid plugin, which will provide full filtering for any parameters and their combinations – for example Size, Material, Dimensions and so on?
Thank you for your interest in our Color Filters plugin. We plan to extend it later, but unfortunately no expected time of accomplishment for now. I would like to contact you regarding filtering options. Can you please let me know if this is OK for you?
Randomizer seems really what I’m looking for but… what about showing more than 1 single randomized post?
Can I show for example 3 from A category, avoiding risk of showing same post 3 times?
Thank you for reply
Thanks for asking! It’s not possible at the moment to show more than 1 randomized post. We also haven’t added a filter for that. Anyhow, we’ll add this feature to the upcoming release next month.
My client has aksed me to add a rating plugin omnto their wordpress blog. Once the user has submitted a rating they want a box to pop up with the result and the option to share this on facebook / twitter.
So would be similar to the way we share a post but would be sharing the fact that they just rated a post.
Can your plugin handle this?
Currently we are using social sharing toolkit for the share which can be used with shortcodes so in theory if we can get the shortcode into your rating window this shoudl wortk – I think…
Do you know or have any experience of how a user could do this?
Thank you very much for your response. It sounds like your plugin will do what I need.
I think I explained it badly. One window for the rating and with social share at the bottom of it is fine.
Looking at my client’s brief I think ‘I just rated this product’ with a link to the product is enough. I don’t think we need to post the actual rating too.
I will hopefully buy your plugin tomorrow and test it.
I know it’s been a while since we discussed this but my client does now want what the pop up I outlined above. I know you said it can’t be done with Facebook but they’d like it with Twitter and also Google+ if possible.
So the user rates the post using your plugin and instead of the thank you message, a pop up opens up with the message – “I just rated…” the name of the post and shows the stars (ideally the number they related if that is possible) and the share links that then shares a message with the same content. I just rated this post (link) via @reallyreee.
Can this be done?
Can you do it for us?
Of course happy to pay for it – otherwise I can try somebody like codeable but if you have time / availability…
Thank you very much.
We would be happy to help. It’s possible. I’ll send you an email for details.
I am interested in your random content plugin. What are the instructions on using a shortcode for it? I saw only sidebar widget instructions.
You can use [elm_random] or [elm_slideshow] (slideshow) to display random posts. Both shortcodes accepts Type and Category arguments. For more details please take a look at our documentation: https://www.elementous.com/documentation/content-randomizer/modifications-and-development/
Please let me know if you have any more questions
Hi Dominykas – thank you for your prompt response. Functionality is great! I need to adjust some CSS styles for it however. Mainly text block/border color and font style/size. Could you point me to the direction of the file that needs to be changed? Or the custom CSS that I need to insert?
Thank you very much!
I would be happy to assist you, but it’s not easy to provide support over comments. Can you please open a new ticket in our technical support forum?
Just wondering if there is a possibility to have WOOCOMMERCE SIZE FILTERS in the near future. Please, let me know if the WOOCOMMERCE COLOR FILTERS could be customized for Product Sizes and the cost to get that done.
Thanks for asking. We think it’s a great idea. We plan to extend the plugin and add more functionality in the near future. We don’t have an ETA right now, but I’ll add your email to my notes and I’ll contact you when it’s ready.
First of all thanks for the plugin. There’s just something that I had some issues with, and that is that all it does is redirecting to the taxonomy of the color rather then just referring to the products in the currently displayed (sub)category. However I modified widgets.php in a way that it does that now. So my question is if your interested in that code and would somehow like to add it as an option to the plugin?
Pleas contact me about that!
We’re happy to hear that! Of course, we’re interested. We would like to include your solution in the next version of the plugin. Also, we would like to add your credits to the plugin’s readme.txt under tweaks. I’ll send you an email for more details.
I really like this plugin and like the compactness when you just display colour only. I was wondering if its at all possible to show the colour name when you hover over it (like what you do with alt text).
Yes, it’s possible. Could you please open a new topic in our support forum? It’s easier to help with stuff like this there. Thanks!
It’s a great plugin but it’s impossible to select no color (or reset the filter).
Would it be possible to add this small function? (A white circle with a red slash for example to indicate no color)
It’s a great feature request! Of course, we’ll add it. We can write a function for you. Can you open a new ticket in our forums?
I would like to know if there is any features where the colors can be filter by categories, for e.g Heels black will not be mixing up with Flats black.
I can see that when I click on black color, they will show both heels and flats products mixing up.
Unfortunately, there’s no feature for that. We have this on our development plan.
Is there any features that the color can be displayed for subcategory instead of showing the color for all category of products at once?
Hi, this is still on our development plan.
Hi again :)
I need the color filter in the “Shop filter” widget area and not in the “Shop sidebar”
The “Shop sidebar” widget area is empty!!!!!! But when I search for a color, the shop menu will be displayed.
I do not understand this!
thank you so much
And sorry, my english is not perfekt ….
Please give me an answer…
Sorry for the delay! Here’s a complete guide how to use WordPress widgets: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Widgets
Hope this helps :)
Is it possible to have it so the colours do not open on another page.
I would like them to filter on the same page & not change the name of the category to the name of the colour (atm when you click on a colour it changes the name of the category)
At the moment they go to… product-color/aqua/ .. can I stop it doing this? So it just stays on the same page?
It’s currently not possible
How does this work for variable products?
I was hoping this plugin would offer me a solution to the problem I have where I have multiple blues (cyan, sky blue, royal blue, etc.) and would like them all to be mapped to a “blue” color filter. However, I would like the images to change on a category page when a user chooses different filter options. I understand that a additional development will need to be done on my end to have the images reflect the filter selections. BUT this could cause issues if every variation within a variable product has the same colors applied to it.
A couple other things I’d like to see:
1) Having 2+ colors as part of one option like so:
This chair (https://www.wayfair.com/Studio-Designs-Deluxe-Desk-Chair-SZT1132.html?piid%5B0%5D=11944909#readmoremodal1) has a color option of Pink / Grey
It is on this page with the Gray color filter applied (https://www.wayfair.com/furniture/sb1/gray-office-chairs-c478390-a73316~269754.html?itemsperpage=96&curpage=2), and on this one with the Pink color filter applied (https://www.wayfair.com/furniture/sb1/pink-office-chairs-c478390-a73316~269762.html?itemsperpage=96)
NOTE: Ctrl + F and search “deluxe”
2) Ability to map same child color to multiple parent colors:
For example, this product comes in Mint (https://www.wayfair.com/Urban-Shop-Micromink-Papasan-Chair-DBAN1057.html?piid%5B0%5D=18951042):
It is mapped to both the Green (https://www.wayfair.com/furniture/sb1/green-accent-chairs-c416225-a75218~274797.html?itemsperpage=96) and Blue (https://www.wayfair.com/furniture/sb1/blue-accent-chairs-c416225-a75218~274795.html?itemsperpage=96) Upholstery Color filters:
NOTE: Ctrl + F and search “micromink papasan”
I see what you mean. We haven’t added compatibility for variable products so you can’t add a color for a variation.
I want to have this plugin for my idioms website, I’ve multiple authors.
I need a plugin that let reader rate the explained idiom but I don’t want to show the rating publicly rather I would like to use it for calculate which author is doing what type of job (good or bad).
Please tell me may I implement it like that?
I think Rating Manager Pro plugin is suitable for that. It has a very detailed statistics page. Do you want to show the rating only for logged-in users or users with a certain role e.g. author? The plugin includes a number of hooks and filters – https://www.elementous.com/documentation/wordpress-rating-manager/plugin-filters/ so you can use ‘elm_ur_html_template’ filter to exclude the rating (output) for other users… It’s very easy, just create a topic for that in the support forum. By the way, you should use the PRO version of the plugin because it’s more extended for your case.
