I’m trying to use shortcode to generate random content. It works fine as long as the shortcode reads:
    [elm_randomize category=”all”]

But as soon as I try to specify a category, the shortcode stops working and all I see is the code itself on my website where the content should be.

The code I’m trying to have work is this:

    [elm_randomize category=”mainalt”]

‘mainalt’ is the category I want to pull from.

    Hi Scandura,

Thanks for asking! There were some changes for shortcodes. We’ll update documentation this week.

Instead of using [elm_randomize category=”all”], you should use [elm_random category=”all”].

And, “category” param should be the category ID and not slug. We’ll add category slug support in the next version. Do you know how to get the category ID? If not, then you can get it from category edit page. See this screenshot: http://prntscr.com/9qcs40

Please let me know if you have any more questions.

One more thing, are you using the latest version of the plugin? The current version is 1.2.2. https://wordpress.org/plugins/content-randomizer/
